Hampshire ASA saw a venue shift to the brand new facilities at Winchester Sports Park for the 2022 County Masters Championships - a more central location for many local outfits, but untested when it came to the varied requirements for such a broad age-range. A touch of trial and error required, but thankfully, the event did not dissappoint in either atmosphere or race performance...it is rare we see British records set at local event level, but a fiesty 50m Breaststroke from Basingstoke Bluefins Martin Bennell (45-49yrs) saw the needed dip...

6-7 November 2021 Medal Count: Gold 53 | Silver 36 | Bronze 18 Swimmers from Development Squad, Youth/Junior County and National Regional squad made the small journey to compete at this competition last weekend. This was another good opportunity to put the fitness and skills learnt since September to the test and of course achieve personal best performances. Likewise, it was also another opportunity to put strong times on the board towards Hampshire County Qualification. The South East Regional Masters Short Course Championships returned after its COVID-interrupted 2020 schedule with a new venue - The K2 Centre, Crawley - and a new look and feel. Whilst the Swim England protocols for safe-swimming in what is described now as the 'new normal' brought far more formality to this traditionally relaxed day of competition (whipping areas, socially distanced spectating and event a pre-event briefing for all swimmers and officials) the racing itself remained as strong and as passionate as ever, with four World, One European and Two...

We had great fun in round 2 of The National Arena Junior Swimming League, held at our home pool, The Quays. Big well done to all our swimmers who took part, many experiencing a team event and relays for the first time! It's been great creating racing opportunities to include so many of our younger swimmers. A big thank you to our volunteers, as always we couldnt run these events without you! Bring on the final round 3! Go CSSC!
