• All abilities welcome

Attendance

Swimmers are encouraged to attend one session per week in your allocated class. If you are unable to attend for any reason just get in touch and we can arrange an alternative session as a one off.

Aims

The programme is run by City of Southampton Swimming Club, so all our teachers have competed in the sport they love and experienced the freedom and joy swimming can bring.

All children learn in different ways and our small class sizes (max 6 per class) enables us to provide a more individual approach. This means that your child can learn in their own way, at a speed that suits them.

Lessons are 30 minutes long and follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway from Ducklings 1 to 4, moving on to Swim England Stages 1 to 7.

Because we’re run by the City of Southampton Swimming Club, lessons support the sport we love from the youngest ducklings to national and international athletes. Once your swimmers have completed stage 7 there are plenty more opportunites available within the club.

Pathway Progression

For swimmers that excel and complete their Stage 7 Swim England Award, there are a couple of options available if they wish to progress their swimming skills even further.

• For children with a passion for swimming who want to compete: Swimmers can arrange a trial to move to Competitive Development Squad.
• For children with a passion for swimming who don't want to compete: Swimmers have the option of moving to our Advanced Lessons, please contact Jenny Murphy [email protected] to help arrange this.

All moves are at the Head Coach’s discretion.

Proposed Lesson Fees from June 2025: £41.00 per month for 1 x weekly 30 min swim lesson (term time only)
