Entry Criteria

• Aged 7+
• Completed Stage 7 from Learn To Swim

Attendance

Advanced swimmers should attend one session per week on Thursday evening.

Aims

The programme is run by City of Southampton Swimming Club, so all our teachers have competed in the sport they love and experienced the freedom and joy swimming can bring.

All swimmers will ideally have completed thier stage 7 swimming award in our Learn To Swim programme or at an equivalent Learn To Swim school elsewhere. If the swimmer wants to continue progressing their swimming skills and fitness but without wanting to joing our competitive swimming squads then our Advance Group is the perfect fit.

Lessons are 1 hour long and follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway for Stages 8 to 10. Swimmers can also use these lesson to improve their fiteness and technic without the pressure of compteting.

Pathway Progression

Swimmers are welcome to stay in these lesson even after completing their Stage 10 Swim England Award to further develop their skills and fitness or they are welcome to go for a trial to join one of our competitive squads

• For children with a passion for swimming who want to compete: After Completing Stage 10 you can arrange a trial to move to Competitive Development Squad.

All moves are at the Head Coach’s discretion.

Proposed Lesson Fees from June 2025: £52.50 per month for 1 x weekly 1 hour swim lesson (term time only)
