Fareham Nomads Winter Meet 2021
6-7 November 2021
Medal Count: Gold 53 | Silver 36 | Bronze 18
Swimmers from Development Squad, Youth/Junior County and National Regional squad made the small journey to compete at this competition last weekend. This was another good opportunity to put the fitness and skills learnt since September to the test and of course achieve personal best performances. Likewise, it was also another opportunity to put strong times on the board towards Hampshire County Qualification.
Well done, to all those swimmers that gave their best and swam well representing our club this weekend. There were literally hundreds of personal best times, so many that I actually gave up counting at 200+, which went towards a good team performance. With over 100 Podium positions from 9yrs of age up to and including 22yrs! You should be rightly proud of yourselves.
Well done, we now get down to some hard training before both the Bournemouth Open Meet (19-21 Nov) and our very own City of Southampton Swimming Club ‘Christmas Cracker Level 3 Open Meet’ on Sunday 19th December, which will be the last opportunity to seek qualification for Hampshire County Championships 2022.
A huge personal Thank You to our swimming parent Officials and Team Managers. I am sure all the swimmers would like to thank our Coaching Team of Aislinn Murphy, Olly Drew and Tyler Ellis.
David Terry
Head Coach
PS: Swimmers should never convince themselves a particular pool is ‘slow or fast’ this will have an adverse psychological effect and negative effect on performance. A good swimmer can swim FAST - Any Time, Any Place, and yes Any Where (yes - they are the Martini swimmers). CSSC had plenty of FAST Martini swimming at Waterlooville.
