Swimming to Success: Club Promoted to Premier Division of The Arena League After 11-Year Wait

It’s official! For the first time in 11 years, our swimming club has been promoted to the prestigious Premier League of the National Arena League South. This milestone achievement caps off an unforgettable 2024 for our team, with swimmers aged 10 and upwards delivering standout performances across a series of meets late in the year. Their hard work, determination, and exceptional team spirit saw us rack up the highest points total of any club—a truly remarkable feat.

Head Coach Matt Heathcock, who took the reins in August 2022, expressed his immense pride in the team:

"I couldn’t be prouder of the team. The team spirit has been amazing and the will to want to win has been great to see. Becoming the head coach in August 2022, one of the targets within five years was to achieve Premier League status. So achieving this is credit to the athletes and my coaching team."

The promotion is the culmination of months of dedication in training, as well as the swimmers’ incredible drive to succeed. It is a victory not just for the competitors in the pool but for the entire club—from the younger swimmers who aspire to follow in their footsteps, to the parents, volunteers, and supporters cheering them on at every step of the journey.

We would also like to give a special shoutout to our coaching team, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in making this a reality.

This achievement marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the club. Competing in the Premier League will bring fresh challenges, but with the talent and determination we have seen from our swimmers, we are confident this is just the start of even greater success to come.
