Our new Head Coach - Matt Heathcock

A big welcome to our new Head Coach Matt Heathcock!!

Matt, originally from Southampton, is no stranger to City of Southampton Swimming Club, having grown up on and around the poolside where his father Dave was the Head Coach for many years.

Once a City of Southampton swimmer himself, Matt is experienced in all levels of competitive swimming having been coaching for 23 years, with 20 being full time.  Matt has coached swimmers to win medals at County, Regional, National and International level.  Over the past 20 years he has also been selected and worked with County, Regional, Swim England and British Swimming teams. Matts valuable experience will be excellent for the development of our swimmers and club.  

Upon his appointment, Matt said -

"My experience will bring the leadership and enthusiasm that the City of Southampton Swimming Club needs.  I'm a firm believer in creating a fun but hard-working team environment.  I believe in the ethos of team and, with honest and clear communication with athletes and parents, this will lead to success."
